Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife and former Bond girl, Denise Richards is going to star in a new reality show for E! set, along with her two daughters, Variety reports. The show, due to begin this summer, has not been titled yet.
The show is produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions. The show will follow the 36-year-old actress “as she navigates Hollywood, romance and motherhood following a tumultuous year in the tabloid headlines.”
The former Mrs. Sheen obtained the court’s approval for the reality show. Charlie Sheen had not wanted the ex-couple’s two daughters, three-year-old Sam, and two-year-old Lola, to appear in the reality series. However, the judge ruled in Richards’ favor.
Richards explained her decision to participate in a reality show, in which a camera will capture her private life, as a single parent.
She said that this is a chance for her to show people her true self, after all the negative rumors that have been told about her.
“I think there’s been so many negative things about me in the press, most of it not true. I’ve kept quiet about many, many things, and I find the public believes what they hear. And if they’re only hearing one side, that’s what they’re going to believe. So, it’s time for people to see what I’m really like,” she told in an interview with Seacrest’s L.A. radio show.
Denise Richards also mentioned that her parents have been like a rock for her during the widely publicized divorce. In the upcoming reality show, Denise’ s father, Irv Richards moves in with her and her two girls. Denise’s mother, Joni Richards, died of cancer last year.
Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen met in 2000 while shooting the independent film “Good Advice.” They married in June 2002. They filed for divorce in March 2005 while Richards was six months pregnant with their second child. In 2006, the actress began a relationship with Richie Samborra, the lead guitarist of Bon Jovi. Samborra was in the middle of a divorce from Heather Locklear, after a ten-year marriage. Richards was accused by Locklear of having dated Samborra, while their marriage was still working. Denise Richards denied Heather’s accusation. In early 2007, Richards and Samborra broke up.
